In this conversation, we speak with Dr. MaryAnne Shiozawa, chiropractor of nearly three decades and founder of Shiozawa Wellness.
Together, we explore the historical shift that took place during the nineteenth century as allopathic medicine rose to prominence, and the resulting divergence from more vitalistic approaches to health — perspectives centred on adaptability, nervous system regulation, and the body’s innate intelligence and capacity for self-healing.
MaryAnne shares the history and philosophy behind chiropractic care, the foundations of Network Spinal, and how this work supports the nervous system’s ability to safely integrate change. Drawing from decades of experience working with babies, children, mothers, performers, athletes, and families, she reflects on the power of gentler, more attuned approaches to healing that honour each individual’s unique capacity and timing.
